Our Heroes

The great Bangalee's who sacrificed their lives for language movement is rare in the world history. There is no nation till today has died to establish their mother tongue. Therefore the Language Movement in 21st February is a proud and historical chapter for Bangladesh and Bangla Language. Actual numbers of Martyrs in language movement is still unknown but from reliable sources of different media and witness's remembrance the following Martyrs are noticable:


Abdul Barkat

A great language martyrs who was died on 21st February 1952, by the open firing of the Pakistani police on a procession of Banla Language Movement. He was born on 16th June, 1927 in a village of Babla under Murshidabad district in West Bengal. He was a brilliant student in masters in Dhaka University.


Rafiquddin Ahmed

A great language martyrs who was killed by police on 21st February 1952, as he was demanding Bangla as the state language of Pakistan. Rafiq was oldest son of his parent and he was born on 30th October, 1926 in a village Paril in Singhair-Baldhara police station under Manikganj district. He was student of Debendra college in Manikganj.


Shafiur Rahman

A great language martyrs who died by police firing on 22nd February 1952, born on 24th January, 1918 in a village Kannyagarh under 24-Pargana police station, West Bengal. He migrated to Bngladesh in 1948 and was an employee of Dhaka High Court.

Abdul Jabbar:
A great language martyrs who died by police firing on 21st February 1952, born on Bangla Hijri 1326 in a village Pachua in Gafargaon police station under Mymensingh district. He was from a very poor farmer family and had primary level education only.
